Fireplace Safety

  •  Never, regarding any ethanol burning fireplace, fill or refill when the burner is ignited or still hot. Be sure to wait at least fifteen minutes after the flame has been extinguished.

  • When using a multi-burner fireplace, NEVER attempt to refill one burner while another is lit. Be sure all burners of the fireplace are extinguished and cool prior to refilling.

  • Never fill the burner more than 3/4 full or past the "Max Line" in any fireplace.

  • Only use a long lighter or fireplace match to ignite your fireplace. Initial ignition may produce a high flame. If possible with the unit your operating, close the lid half-way to ignite, then open it using the provided tool once lit.

  • Only insert the ethanol burner or grate into a non-combustible, fireproof material such as stainless steel, stone or wonderboard. Never install your burner in plastic or wood.

  • Keep your fireplace and ethanol fuel out of the reach of children and animals.

  • Only install your fireplace on a solid surface of non-flammable material. Be sure to keep flammable materials such as drapes or decoratives at least four feet away from your fireplace.

  • Do not place items on top or inside the fireplace unless that is their specific use or function.

  • Never touch the fireplace while ignited or hot.

  • Only use ethanol approved for use in fireplaces. This differs from ethanol car fuel, which when burned in the fireplace, is sure to explode.

  • Always use a funnel to fill your fireplace. If ethanol is spilled, be sure to clean it properly with an absorbent tissue and cleaned with water to prevent ignition outside of the fireplace.

  • Never leave your fireplace unattended.

  • Have a fire extinguisher in close proximity to your fireplace.

  • Do not cover your fireplace.

  • Do not smoke while filling your fireplace. Cleanse hands thoroughly before smoking.

  • Store the ethanol away from your fireplace and out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Only adjust the flame with the tool provided. Never touch the burner to adjust flame.

  • Never try to blow the flame out. Adding oxygen will increase it. Only used the extinguishing tool that is provided with your fireplace.

  • Do not modify your fireplace.
